All rights reserved documentation
Hi All,
Hope this is the right forum for this.
I was wondering if anybody had any success with an All rights reserved passport application lately? The QLD Drivers license went through without a glitch earlier this year, however the APO is blocking my application for the second time for a passport due to “unacceptable, inappropriate or offensive signature”.I sent them 3 notices that they breached the contract, as well as proof of signature (using the DL), etc. I even visited the Brisbane office this week in the hope that I can speak to someone reasonable there, but I could not. I asked the manager what gives them authority to dictate to me how I sign my signature. She referred to subsection 53(4) of the Australian Passports Act 2005 (the Act). I then asked to quote my the part which allows them to dictate to me how I sign my signature. She refused and asked security to escort me out.
Almost forgot to tell that after the first rejection I sent a formal complaint to the new “minister for foreign affairs”. I never received a reply from her office, but as it turned out they forwarded my complaint to the APO who investigated themselves and found that they did the right thing, which triggered me to write again to the minister emphasizing that I asked her to investigate instead of the APO. The result is total silence…So, I thought I drop this is in to have a little brainstorming to see what options we can come up with to get this over the line.
Two possible options that I thought of would be to forward the complaint to the PM and the Governor General, and to sue to these little bureauc-rats who processed my application.
