Is 3 step process applicable for NSW driver in Canberra.
Posted by tasman on March 11, 2023 at 1:57 pmWife driving my car in Canberra (Sept 22) – she voluntarily nominated herself.
Just received Infringement Notice – addressed to BARES, Caroline whereas her License is Caroline Eugenie BARNES. However my question is as to whether the standard 3 letter approach should work. She ripped the letter open before knowing what it was.

Probably not because she consented to the contract by consenting at the roadside and then by opening the accepted offer of a fine. it would possibly be best to learn how to discharge the fine with either a Promissory Note a Bill of Exchange or A4v, if you will have trouble paying for it. Another option is to plead hardship trickle feed payments so it is not a burden our finances. If you need more time to learn then see it as incentive to prepare yourself for any future plundering at the roadside by studying studying studying, so you will have a plan in future to immediately implement if the offer is made again. Thanks again Janet – my apologies I forgot to mention it was a camera detection not a face to face confrontation Does this change things.??

Yes, because there was no consent and no contract.

By the way, slightly off topic – regarding SDR. I have watched the video associated with module 19 several times. I have also asked the community about dealing with SDR. I have also raised a query through “Contact”.
The video does not mention SDR, nor has the community / contact been able to answer I still cannot get an answer on dealing with SDR.

SDR = State Debt Recovery NSW. Module 19 does not provide any recommendation for dealing with SDR??? —— If I can’t review a recommended process, how can I decide on an approach ???
