Webinar: Court Application To Set Aside a Default Judgment

The year is speeding past at lightning speed! So many folks are affected by floodwaters & rain in the northern NSW and Southern Qld regions. Please reach out to those in need in any manner possible, some being in terrible & unenviable dispositions, without homes and/or services.

Our next Wednesday Webinar is on 6th April 2022 at 7pm Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane time, and is titled “Court Application To Set Aside a Default Judgment“.

Many people are under an erroneous belief that when a Court judgment or decision is made against them they cannot do anything about it.

Nothing can be further from the truth. In the scenarios where:

• you are unaware of a legal proceeding or
• other defects in the legal process that resulted in the judgment or decision, leading to a determination by way of judgment or decision.

There are a number of reasons for an application for Orders Setting Aside a Default Judgment. A Judgment in Default of Appearance is where the party acting as the Defendant failed to appear for the proceedings, so the Judgment was awarded to the applicant – Plaintiff by default. Example successes of setting aside Default Judgments will be given & the reasons why the successful outcomes were achieved.

During the current weather war madness, there are certain to have been Court judgments & decisions awarded against people by reason many folks who are involved in litigation were

• unable to attend a Court/ appear on a zoom call to the Court or
• were not financial to file a Defence via their lawyer or
• simply were too overwhelmed or preoccupied to appear before & participate in a legal proceeding.

Naturally examples of several Applications will be presented on the webinar & made available in the shop. If you are one of those that have had a Default Judgment made against you/your legal estate within the last 30 days (by statute) or up to the last 2 years (if you have a valid bona fide reason) then this webinar is for you.
