  • Has Anyone Experienced an Audit Using Mark’s Method?

Posted by self_existence on June 12, 2023 at 2:19 pm

    Hi Solutions Fam,

Preparing to do my tax for 2022-2023 as a PAYE/PAYG and wondering if anyone has ever had an audit triggered and what it entails?

I have completed all my previous tax returns as normal. I guess I just need to make sure that everything is included in the return (crypto etc.).

Also, the module has the Declaration witnessed by a JP but Mark says it should be by a Notary. Will a Notary even agree to witness this type of document?

    Cheers!

Hi, yes I did my tax return using Mark’s method and it triggered an audit. The ATO claimed that I did not take reasonable care in preparing the return and that I was reckless, and fined me $7289. They even noted that I was not being dishonest. Interesting! I am in the process of writing a reply, holding my position.

    Good luck

    Brett

Isn’t an audit when they ask to see all of your financial records so
they can check to make sure you have not neglected to pay tax in any
areas? I was audited a few years ago, just out of the blue and they
required us to hand in our financial records which we did as they were
all up to date and in order. They gave them back a month later and
nothing came of it as we had put in accurate returns.

Ah I see. I guess I am curious if they will go through past tax returns? I don’t know if I have all the receipt of small things I claimed in the past. Thanks for the reply

My current dilemma is that after I received the ATO audit letter saying that I was reckless, I think I sent 3 estoppel letters. This was 3 years ago. Trouble is I don’t remember, I don’t have proof that I sent them. Although the fact that they haven’t chased me for 3 years may be a good indicator that I did. This is for my 2019 return

Anyways, I’m unsure how to proceed. I didn’t know how at the time

Should I start with a new 3 step process, hopefully they’ll default, then take it to court? I don’t feel competent doing court by myself.

Yes definitely create an agreement with them that you have proof of if you think it will proceed to court. Just keep watching relevant webinars about court and buy the necessary modules once you have your head around the webinar/s.

This return is the first one where I’m claiming a lot. Every other one I’ve been squeaky clean. Now I want to make up for that, and as Mark says, have some fun with them. 🙂

The ATO in their letter said that that it was an audit just for this return

    Hey guys,
I am a self employed coach/consultant. I had an inflated tax return in 2021 that ended up with a $31k debt on it. I had 2 other Income Tax debts of total $6k & $2k and a PAY NOW notice for $41k total. I studied Mark’s module, did investigations in to results from others and deduced that for me personally I had the knowledge but not quite the full confidence to energetically file an amendment as a sovereign woman using Marks’ teachings. I CHOSE tactically to play the DEAD ENTITY game first. and submit an amendment playing their game – their way, using mygov and paper. It triggered an audit (only as I had tried once a few months before). They never explained it was an audit, they just gave a $22k credit the day I did my amendment & then the day later deleted it. So I contacted them to complain – “where is my amendment and tax credit?” they said I had to “verify my income and expenses” to have the amendment go through (this little to my knowledge was the audit). As invoices were destroyed by the floods I wrote an affidavit with full details of my supposed “income” and expenses” and sent some digital invoices and things off to them. The result was an (audit) that ended up in a $24k credit!!! It turned out that an investment property we had for which I was told I was a 1% owner, they deemed me to be a 50% owner & thus they changed my whole return and the lucky result was a higher credit than my original DEAD ENTITY amendment!

So now my debt is down from $41k to $15k I am working on the next stage of my plan. It might be using their system to apply to release the debt or a promissory note. Or if I feel bold I may write to them to ask for proof that the ATO was legally gazetted in 1973 at it’s inception & indeed does possess legal authority to claim debts from me. And see where that goes…….TBC

Any advice here by those experienced members is most welcome!

My plan is one of least resistance, as I am not a fighter. I have sound knowledge of the truth but “some fear” applying it as I can’t deal with a “battle” (busy life, little kids property etc etc).

I figured that “knowing the truth” and then using their system to diminish the debt felt RIGHT for ME. As Mark and Tom and all the greats say – we have to embody knowledge before we can apply it with ease and success and high confidence is paramount to winning.

Good luck everyone in keeping what is rightfully yours.

Thanks for sharing! A promissory note might do the trick? I used it for a $3k covid fine after exhausting all other methods (over 18months of holding my position). They were relentless and kept suspending my licence. I offered a $4k Promissory Note and haven’t heard back from them. I know it worked because if it hadn’t my licence would be suspended again (as it was a 30 day unbanning till I paid the balance).

I am now using a BOE for my quarantine debt.

If you see everything you do as simply a research project and then the outcome will not matter. You are simply researching different methods to ascertain which ones work the best. If it doesn’t give you the result you need then try the next thing.
