I have asked this Q in other discussion forum thought I would ask in Tax forum. Thank you to those who gave advice previously. Unfortunately I missed the last Q & A with Mark.

I watched webinar where Mark said on Tax Return say “NO” am not filing tax return next year & you never need to do one again.

I purchased his TAX module but can’t find this Q on the forms.

I have received my returns completed ready to sign from accountant but this Q is not on my form either. It is however on our TRUST return forms.

My hubby wants to continue with his returns however I choose to opt out.

How can I opt out but my hubby continue to file a return annually.

hello, If you search google for the tax documents you can download the specific year and print them out. I did it recently and I believe the second page at the top has that question – ”Will you be required to file a return next year?”.

The rest is very easy you mostly just cross out the rest of the pages and sign it the correct way.

when you tick the ‘no’ box, you are no longer under contractual obligation to do your tax next year, but you can still do so if you choose (your husband). And you most likely will still be badgered by the ato to do it at some point so expect do them again following this process.

I did it for the last 3 years as the ato was threatening me, I did the affidavit and mailed it with all 3 years completed (ticking ‘no’ on every one) and they sent me a zero owing statement. best of luck

Married men and women can file separately.

Just make sure that the husband and wife don’t give conflicting information that can be cross referenced in their returns.

If you have a registered trust and husband and wife are trustees. If one does a return then both have to do a return. If your trust is a registered entity, then you have to comply with legislation and file a return. You cannot opt out of doing a return.

However, if you have a Solutions Empowerment Non-Registered trust, you do not have to comply with legislation. However, if one of the trustees does a return then both have to do a return.
