Individual tax return
Posted by Fletcher on August 7, 2024 at 8:37 amHi Team.
Doing my first tax return, when I send the form off to the ATO do I also need to send an affidavit/ declaration to go with it? I innerstand a few of you do it anyway, but does it need to be done?
When doing amendments to old tax returns, will I also need to send affidavit/declaration/ cover letter along with it?
Cheers,
Fletch

Yes, always send an affidavit declaring the points you want to make.

Even with the standard tax return? And what would that affidavit look like? I have bought the tax module but I am yet to go through all the docs that came with it
-
There is an Affidavit of Expenses included in the module.
-
here i ask again.which tax module purchase you guys talking about?is it mod 2-legally and legitimely minimise tax? that one is part of free knowledge resources with membership.
-
The document titled “5 Affidavit of Expenses” is worded for an “Amended Tax Return”. I’m having trouble nailing down which is for a “Tax Return for Individuals”. Can you please point out the correct example? Alternatively, if you have the capacity can you please privately message me?

Documents 4 and 6 are for individual tax returns.

Hi. me again. im still confused. Which tax module did you guys purchased? module 2 -legally and legitimately minimise tax? that one is free with membership. what am i missing

Yes Module 2, if you already have it then all good.

It is worth purchasing the module. I sent mine off to The ATO this week. Get the affidavit certified by a JP. They didn’t question it or even look at what the document was all about. I expect an audit so there is documents to send off to rebut their claims
-
What documents have you got ready to send off to rebut the ATO?
-
-
Does the module have a clearer example of a pre filled return so it’s done correctly?
-
It does have a completed return under the Affidavit of expenses, just scroll down when you open the affidavit. It also has an amended return document and an example of a tax return for self employment.
-
hi, thanks for the reply.
I filled my docs as per module 2 and they have been sent off . over 3 weeks and no response as yet .
-
Do you have strategies in place for any move they may potentially make?

Awesome, if you end up needing to go to court under duress or having a private meeting with the ATO then maybe watch this one.. https://solutionsempowerment.org/webinar-live-demonstration-role-play-round-table-meeting-court/ and buy the module

Hi Morag,
I am getting my documents together now to send off to claim back tax with held. I am unsure which affidavit to send through as there are 2 in the module I purchased.. Is it the ” Declaration in the form of an affidavit of the man answering to John Henry smith dated 25 /09/2020″ or “Afffidavit of expenses” for the man commonly addressed by the name elvis saint pierre”
I assume it is the ” Declaration in the form of an affidavit of the man answering to John Henry smith dated 25 /09/2020″ as it is not an amendment I am putting forward but simply a claim to get back withheld taxes, i just want to confirm before sending the incorrect docs. Thank you for your help
Also however as this is a 2021 return as i haven’t lodged one since then, would I be able to put an amendment for the 2 prior years of returns or does it work on calendar year so as it is 2024 then can only amend 2023 and 2022 returns. It would be great if I could do 2020 at least as was quite substantial for me that year, but don’t want to go outside the correct process. Thank you
