rental agreements
Posted by ryan on January 17, 2024 at 8:22 pmhas anyone that has rental propertys done up their own lease agreements ?
ive always just used the NSW residential tenancy agreement and had the tenants bond lodged but i am concerned that doing it this way may draw unwanted attention when trying to transtition into the private. Any opinions on this matter are welcome thanks

If you already have a public presence then you need to shut down any businesses you may have and start again under a new name if you wish to go private. If you don’t do this they will still come after you under your business name. When you start your new business you can absolutely write all of your own tenancy agreements. As long as they are fair and equitable and at the same time they protect you as well then that’s all you need to work out. I’m sure you will get ideas from this site just from studying Mark’s documents and disclaimers etc. and watching webinar after webinar in any and all areas you want to educate yourself in. You could also put in a request with the team for a webinar showing us how to write our own agreements in the private (if there aren’t any webinars covering this already)

thank you, i am refering to rental properties, granny flats etc. My line of thought was many people that have non registered trusts would have had expertise in this. i havent found anything from mark on this topic yet.

I haven’t had the chance to get on a live webinar to ask mark. I have not found any information yet, I’m quite surprised there’s no one on this group that has a rental property or anything where a lease is drawn up where someone could suggest a different way of doing it as to not involve the nsw government

There could be people who are in this group that have rentals but they are just not available to answer your question. The quickest easiest way to get your questions addressed is to attend the next Q and A. This has a comment about rentals in it.
