Can anyone tell me the difference between a Signature and an Autograph? Or at they the same?

For a long time I thought:

Autograph is: written in Blue pen- Date at the bottom, signature on top (as below) and then your thumb print in red ink over the date and signature.

And then Signature is just your normal signature.

Recently having a private foundation setup by Peter Duff and he informed me there is no difference between the two. But I always thought if i use my normal signature that I am essentially signing as my strawman (which i would not think is a good idea on the Articles of Agreement for a PF.

Thanks in advance for your wisdom.

I should clarify, Peter Duff was essentially saying that an Autograph is not different to a signature.

Yes an autograph is a signature, people just use it in the context of a certain way of signing your name, but it means signature.

I have heard and confident that I have read this somewhere….. that a Justice of the Peace or perhaps 2 x Justices (justii?) have the equivalent authority as a Magistrate or Judge. In other words, it is possible to achieve a Judgement such as a Default Judgement with the signature(s) of Justice(s) of the Peace.

I’ve been looking for a usable reference for this and wondered is anyone had one they could point me to please?

Is there limitations on what type of matter this applies to?

You are achieving a Private Default Judgement and can use it in court to hold your position using the agreement you have obtained in the private as an exhibit to a court affidavit.
