    Hi,

i made an offer to council for rates using the cheque process.

i offered 10% of what was due for the whole year.

They sent a letter back, after the 72 hour period, stating that cannot accept check, only if applying it to the full amount still due.

In other words, i still owe the full amount.

i sent back asking for evidence that the payee has authority to renegotiate a non negotiable contract.

They sent back stating under a certain act i have a responsibility to pay rates, blah, blah, blah.

No real answer. Did it again and they sent back saying they will not debate this, pay or be sent to a collection.

So the collection sent a paper saying, maybe i overlooked this, just pay the council as soon as possible.

Then recently the council sent a new statement of account.

Iwant to do an A4v on that, but is it better to hold my position on the first process and send a third letter,

I am just concerned about seizing assets, our property.

We just about have it in a non registered trust.
