  • Ambulance callout over $1300, now Baycorp is involved

Hi everyone, my first post on here. Mark, amazing work yourself and your team is offering. We went on a trip to WA and had to call an ambulance for our little girl because she had a febrile convulsion and we wanted peace of mind. St. John Ambulance sent us an invoice of over $1300 for seeing her for half an hour and administering children’s panadol once. We received 3 letters from St. John addressed to “Parent/Guardian of GIRL NAME” with the amount payable and the tearable bottom part of the letter at the bottom. We weren’t proficient or confident with how to proceed as it was just during when we found your website and were going through the first introductory module videos. After the 3rd letter and within 72 hours my husband wrote St. John a letter apologising for not paying yet (so as to reset the timer) and he said he needs more time before he can pay the invoice. We were hoping to hear back from them with an updated deadline but heard nothing afterwards.

Yesterday, a couple of months after all mentioned above has happened, we received a letter in the mail addressed to “C/O Parent/Guardian of GIRL NAME” and a “Return undelivered mail to GPO Box etc etc” on the same side of the envelope. We didn’t proclaim the letter by opening it, but we managed to identify that it’s from Baycorp Debt Collection Australia with the help of our flashlight. Now, here is where our question begins: How do we proceed with this letter? Do we write “UNCLAIMED” on it and return it to sender? Do we open it and look for the tearable “fill your CC details here and send it back to us” to send with a complimentary $1? What do we do?

We look forward to hearing from you guys. Much love
