All rights Reserved signing and Alternative Passports
Posted by sc on September 29, 2022 at 6:12 pmHi all, I am struggling to recieve my Australian Passport due to the signature having ”All rights reserved”. Would anyone know a way to reserve your rights more discretely when signing government forms so the documentation does not get rejected – for e.g. as a acronym A.R.R.?
Also in the forums of a group called the the knowyourrightsgroup, I saw mentioned an alternative passport that could be attained. It was described as a Commenwealth National Passport.
If anyone has any infomation on this or other alternative passports that are more “private” if they could provide such that would be greatly appreciated.Thank you,
Regards,
SC

What do you think about writing
By signature
Name printed
Retaining All rights.Would there be any problem with that?
Thank you

Just make sure you have evidence that this is your normal signature. If you use it on your passport and/or license you must sign all of your documents this way or they can charge you with forgery. If you have evidence of this as your normal signature eg on bank cards, credit cards etc then as the word retain is used in describing reserve it seems logical that it could be used, reserve is the word recognised in legal documents but here is the dictionary definition verb [with object] • retain or hold (a right or entitlement), especially by formal or legal stipulation: [with object and infinitive] : the editor reserves the right to edit letters.
Just make sure you have all of your evidence that this is your normal signature with you to present to them before proceeding along this path if you decide to do this.

How do you know they can charge you with forgery, Morag? I’ve not heard that before. Forgery or fraud if duplicating someone elses signature but not our own? I comprehended the evidence of prior use was simply to hold position if challenged. We are entitled to update our signature – it’s ours, after all – and many people don’t even have a consistent signature but just scribble randomly. I’ve only found it an issue when for example a pedantic bank teller who says comparing my signature with the one on file is how they verify my identity, which is a rather irrational. I just said, their signature on file so many years old I can’t even remember what it looks like. RE: Retaining all rights. Is there a reason the initial poster wishes for ‘retaining’. Definitions are highly specific. All Rights Reserved is used by multinational corporations and is thus well established. I’d prefer to stick to the script personally

Yes you are right Anandrah it’s they who can be charged with fraud if they chop off any part of your signature. However if you don’t have proof that this is the way you normally sign then they can claim you’ve made an addition. I’ll delete that previous c comment as I don’t want to mislead anyone.
-
I couldn’t delete it so hopefully they will see your correction. I’ll post other alternative suggestions for signatures that others have used here.

Thanks Morag. They were my words you quoted regarding Alice and the use of Latin. I loved the idea. But Mark commented on it in a Q & A. He said not to do it unless you signed everything that way. Makes sense! Mark commented in a Q & A also he came across using ‘ In Own Right’ as being of higher standing again. Being an option as an altnerative. To me it sounds like Anna von Reitz saying that. Just my instinct. In holding position, the point is that it’s not ‘adding words to signature’ but that ‘this is my signature’.

Thanks for that I’ll amend the document.

I recently renewed my driver licence. They took a new photo and didn’t comment on my ARR autograph. The new licence arrived with an older photo of me with short hair and old signature. I’ll be doing the 3 step affidavit with them.
-
Did you keep a copy of the application with your signature on it?
-
-
I thought I had scanned and saved a copy but cannot seem to locate it in my phone. I usually scan every document before sending. I may need to reapply.
-
The photo I took didn’t save unfortunately. I’m thinking of returning the card with a copy of their letter, asking them to provide evidence by affidavit that the details listed on the card are the same as I submitted to them on the application form and to reissue with the details I provided. It clearly wasn’t the same photo taken this time so why did they change it? Can I put it back on them to prove that they took their information from my 2023 renewal application? I didn’t write my name in all caps, the address was c/- and my autograph is changed. Yes, I have evidence that I use it regularly at work, by affidavit and on other cards. I’ll be upgrading next month if I pass a practical for an MR so I’m still playing in the sandbox. I can take it up with them then when it’s upgraded. If all else fails, I’ll pay to replace it with correct details and ensure it’s all recorded.
-
They didn’t chop off the ARR. They used a completely different signature, from a previous licence before my last one. It was taken from a signature on paper. The last card I signed on a pad and it was messy. I print with the By:Lyn:Mangan., Bene with ARR underneath now. Completely different.

Update on driver licence renewal- I had a conversation with Main Roads who had never heard of an agency using a different photo. They used a photo taken from my Working with Children Blue card with my old signature. I asked why would they do that when it’s not a licence photo? It was the last photo on record in government records. So why wasn’t the photo taken on 30th January saved in your records? After several calls to her supervisor and the office in question, I’m assured of a free replacement card with my details as supplied (I’ll definitely scan it this time) except she says the name is always in capital letters. Is that true?
They get nervous when you want to know the name needed if I lodged a complaint for breach of contract.
Let’s see what the new card looks like. Thanks again, Morag for your advice!

Yes it is normal for the name to be in all caps on the licence as it is the name of the corporation/dead entity that you are using as a transmitting utility for the purposes of trading. It is nothing to be worried about when you have the ARR signature. The signature is making sure you are only agreeing on behalf of the strawman to use and possession rights of the license and only the license, not anything else they try to attach to that (such as road rules). They then require your consent for anything like road rules or any other orders they may want you to fulfil. The full signature should be
BY: signature
Sentence Case Name
All rights reserved
with each layer touching the last.

Thank you. They can keep the All caps. It’s their card. I like to use the Beneficiary/Bene too
By: Lyn: M…, Bene,
All Rights Reserved
‘To the best of my knowledge’ is added on certain letters and documents. Is there anything wrong with signing with Beneficiary?
There’ll be a copyright symbol soon too.
-
I’m not sure about that, I only know some one used that on an envelope they wanted to send back to a fine issued when they had held their correct position and not contracted in court; iNCORRECTLY ADDRESSED I AM THE BENEFICIARY OF THIS ESTATE PLEASE SEND TO THE TRUSTEE.
-
-
I haven’t seen that version before, but I have RTS/No contract, etc labels printed ready to use.
-
Update. I updated my licence details to a c/- address and my autograph on an electronic pad that ‘crashed’ 3 times when the girl tried to save it. It was nearly closing time so they were keen to finish the transaction. I have a record and they know I’ll be back if it’s not correct. See what arrives.
-
Awesome!!! Well done, I’m looking forward to hearing your results from that.

I have just become a member of Solutions Empowerment today. Live in the UK.
Can I ask what the benefits are of adding All Rights Reserved to your signature please?

Welcome. I have used Arr to sign documents. It is evidence you are living and are not subject to anything you have not negotiated and agreed to. I recommend you watch lots of webinars and study study study. Buy modules when you need them or even before you need them (buy lots if they are on special, sometimes they have a special price) You will slowly and inexorably get your head around these processes and then you will be able to use them to their maximum capabilities. Never make statements when you are dealing with authority figures, always ask questions to get them as a second witness. If you make claims the burden of proof is on you. If they make claims the burden of proof is on them and this allows you to ask questions of them and to gain them as a second witness. No man can be a witness in his own matter. There’s lots lots more to it all, but you will get thoroughly educated on this site if you persist and have determination.
