They don’t have jurisdiction over private for members only sites, but
what they do have jurisdiction over (maybe) is the email system. So we
need to learn how to use PDFs when communicating information they may
try to use against us as PDFs don’t seem to be able to be read in emails
when shared on this forum. We can only access the contents of the PDF
by coming on this site and downloading it therefore it stays in the
private and out of their jurisdiction. If we let Mark know what is
happening maybe he can instruct his webmaster to stop private
discussions on here from being sent to our emails and instead we can
just receive a notification that there is a message waiting for us on
    site?

I sent a query to the team regarding this.

Thanks Morag. I am only going by whats directly quoted in the guidance note to the legislation. According to them its the other way around. Email is not covered by the legislation but private member sites are (as I directly quote in my briefing sheet.)

No doubt Mark will hardly lose any sleep over the legislation pertaining to this website.

Of course, you raise some great points. I’ve never liked the fact discussions here can be sent to email. Its very insecure. I disable that feature.

I trust everyone realises how dangerous the proposed legislation is! It will be great to see responses on this thread affirming members have actioned my documents, and then some.

    Click on My Account

Where it says Login Information, is actually a pull down menu. Clicking there presents further options. Notifications is the option to choose. Srttimg all to Web will prevent email notifications. I recommend checking the other settings such as Privacy also

Thank you so much Anandrah, I didn’t realise that was even there. For other members wishing to change their settings to make them more private so it won’t go to your emails (in the public and therefore able to be gathered by algorithms for the public pirates to enable them to track what you are doing) then click on your picture/icon at the top of the page then click on Account Options, then click on Notification settings in the side bar and after you have changed those save the changes, then go to Privacy settings in the side bar and change those to make them more private then save those changes.

I’d like to share the response I sent to the Bill. Imagine if a million people wrote to say, ‘I do not consent’? Would that make an impact?
