Years ago I used to belong to a bartering system called Green Dollars. It is very good if you have a skill/product that others in the group want and if they have skills/product that you want. You just have to put limits on how much each member can receive before they have to provide something to other members to balance the sheet. They usually have rules in place to cover this. Anyone can start a group and it is probably best to have a private members association with membership fees to keep it out of the public arena and therefore out of the jurisdiction of the tax department (unless one invites them in), as even in a bartering system the tax office tries to extract money if it is in the public arena, the tax dept may also try to get jurisdiction by getting members to incriminate themselves the same as the police do at the side of the road.
