Births Deaths & Marriges Claiming I can not use a Fee Waiver to get source doc?
I sent you an application for my original registration of birth document and births deaths and marriages has sent me this:
“The Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages has received your request for a copy of the Victorian original registration document.
Upon review, a fee waiver has been attached to the application.
The Registry does not accept fee waivers for Victorian original registration documents.
A fee waive is only applicable for a legal certificate as stated on the fee waiver application.
The Registry requires payment of $110.00 to complete the application.
Please provide a Cheque, Money Order or call 1300 369 367 for card payment of $110.00 – please quote your reference number BDM Ref No“
I feel like they have no right to demand an upfront payment, just because that will give me this type of document so easily.
What should I do?

Iv applied for my source document in WA Iv been told I can have an uncertified copy of it on plain A4 paper. Iv pushed at them stating I need a certified copy, I have reached the head of the dept in WA and they are still refusing to give me a certified copy. Where do I go from here now do I hold my position? ? ? Thanks

There’s quite a bit of information here. An alternative is to write an affidavit using three witnesses to testify that you are living and get it notarised.

Nice, do you think obtaining the Affidavit to prove living status is as strong as a source document?

if you get the affidavit signed by a Notary public in the presence of the witnesses then yes. Even with a JP witnessing it can be submitted to court as an exhibit to your affidavit.
