  • Certificate of Protest

    Hi,

    1) I need some help with understanding the wording on the Certificate of Protest provided in the modules. See photo below.

Green highlights – I don’t understand…The Council has sent me letters asking for payment still, after rejecting the Money Order.

Yellow highlight – Am I supposed to amend this?

Blue highlight – What would you put here in these two places if it was from the Council or am I supposed to delete/amend the second party? Do I leave the warrant officers etc rest of the wording? The last bit, do I attach a copy of the handwritten Money Order only and the Statement of Account/Contract? Do I paperclip the documents instead of staple?

    2) Is there a Certificate of Protest document available for a Public Notary? I haven’t come across one yet. The only Certificate of Protest I found was the one for when a public notary is not available. So it’s for an “Acting Notary” with additional 3 witness signatures. If I find a Public Notary, I guess I amend this Certificate and bring it to him to sign or would they do up one themselves?

    3) Does only 1 copy of the Certificate of Protest get made and signed by the Notary and we just use copies after that? Does the copies have to be signed by a JP?
