  • Council fine question for NSW

Posted by missmj on May 28, 2024 at 9:55 pm

Hi Community, I have a question. If local council has sent a letter asking for pictures of what they claim is a moveable dwelling on our property (its a caravan in our eyes), because of a neighbour complaint & we ignore the email. Can they issue us a fine for not giving them pictures of our property? They have said if we do not provide them with more information and records before a specific date that they will issue a fine.

They can do whatever they like with their paperwork. You will find documents you can use for your paperwork in Module 29 Successfully Dealing with Councils.

They can’t get pictures etc unless you consent and/or confess to anything by arguing or incriminating yourself.
