    Hi Guys

A friend of mine had been put in hospital by the partner. The partner immediately called police and got a DVO served on them while in hospital in an attempt to cover their tracks. My friend was in hospital for a while and due the medication and condition from injuries, had no recollection of the documents until later.

They go to court on the 20th, and I am assuming this would be a “mention” to see if they DVO is needed. My friend has a very good case after the police investigated and completed a proper report, however the lawyer said they do not need to submit anything or do anything as it is just a mention.

I find this very strange. so my question is, could they not submit an affidavit to include their evidence, or even get statutory declarations done by people they know? or is a mention different.
    or even begin a 3 step process/
