Help with Trust Accounts and Tax File Numbers
Hello everyone,
We are in the process of finalising the trust bank account for our private trust.
At the time the banker asked for our personal tax file numbers (TFN) for each of us.
We provided them and she updated our personal customer profiles. Now she is asking for a TFN for the trust itself and we feel a little lost.
Should we make up a tax file number, or do we use someone else’s?

I didn’t provide a tfn and told them that it’s a private trust, away from the public. They accepted that.

its a non registered trust…it does not have a tax number!….it talks about it being a NGO in the trust deed (page 3 on mine).

i didnt have to give a tfn either…it was optional….hope you manage to get it sorted……….
