  Here is a useful resource for visual learners. THE GREEN PART of this flowchart (bottom half) I believe is GREAT in explaining the post-PAP-process and options to take the default judgement to.

  Technical inconsistencies exist between this process (America), and the steps required for the private administrative processes in other jurisdiction, but I feel like the gist is the same. (Please comment any differences).
