No because I dressed well, I took charge of the appointment and calmly and firmly stated what I needed (“I just need you to witness my signature and take my affirmation”). If I thought I would have any trouble I would cover the documents by paper clipping blank paper over each page, apart from where I wanted them to witness my signature and stated that my document was private and confidential. I also looked up the duties of a JP so I would know exactly what their job entailed when it came t witnessing signatures on documents and taking oath or affirmations. If they asked if I wanted each page signed by them and me I said yes or I might instruct them to do that before they ask. We would just initial each page and the JP would stamp it as well and write the date and their number on it. I got two JPs to sign a document as well (claim of right). I just made the appointment on the same day with two and when they asked me why I wanted two I just said “I’ve been to a Notary Public and he told me he had been instructed not to sign anything unless it was for an overseas matter. They said “That’s funny” and I said “Yes that’s what I thought, but I was told two jps are worth one Notary”. Then they were quite happy to sign it.
