Private Trust – NSW stamp duty exemption & deed date QUESTIONS
Posted by missmj on June 7, 2023 at 7:50 pmHi Community & Morag 🙂
Has any who has a property in NSW managed to get an exemption for stamp duty when placing their property into their trust name?
Also, is it necessary to have the trust deed ‘date’ to be before the sale date on the property? Or does it not matter? Im having issues because i can’t go back to 2021???

Thanks Morag! You’re a legend 🙂
One more question…. is it worth back dating the trust deed? Or it really doesn’t matter because we are simply transferring everything over to a Trust?

When you purchase the trust then you get a 1 hour zoom meeting with Mark so you can ask any questions there.

I have already had my one hour zoom chat, can you please help me answer this question? So i can complete the next step and get back to you guys. I am unclear of the answer thats why im asking. Thank you!

You should have contact details for Mark as a part of your Trust purchase, so it would be best to ask him to clarify this for you.

Also, do we get the trust deed document first then we change over our assets?
Im confused…

You need the Deed before you can put anything into the trust, yes.

Hi Morag,
This is becoming a little frustrating. I have looked for Mark’s contact details via my Trust purchase. I cannot locate it. This is why i’m asking here. Can you please give me his best email so i can contact him directly about this?
Thank you
Marja
