  • SEQ release of water damaged my property

Posted by trav on March 6, 2024 at 9:55 am

Recently SEQ released a large volume of water. Because of poor drainage management from SEQ, it resulted in excess water flooding over into a causeway that runs thru my property which subsequently caused damage to my driveway, and flooded parts of my house. SES had to come and sand bag around my house to help divert the excess water. I’ve taken photos and video of what happened, just after advice as to the best way to compel SEQ and even sunshine council to repair inadequate drainage that keeps leading to damage to my property as well as requiring them to remedy the damage to my property.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks

Which webinars have you watched in relation to this? Have you looked through the Q and As to see if anyone has asked a similar question? The list of questions asked is under the Q and A.

The one on property and holding position. I comprehend how to ask questions, it’s more a case of wording it in such a way that compels in honour SEQ water and the Sunshine Coast council to do amendment works to stop my property continually getting flooded when they release water.

I also have SEQ Infrastructure on my property so I was thinking which they need to access my property to get to, so I’m thinking under the rules of equity they have a financial responsibility for the upkeep of part of the property, as well as a liability because of the damage releasing the water has caused

There’s a Q and A about Common Law v what Mark teaches tonight, so you could ask your question there?
