Sheriff’s Office Victoria visit
My son yesterday received a visit to his home from the Sheriff’s Office Victoria over a number of traffic infringements going back to 2022. The total they claimed he owed was $5,177.90. They demanded full payment on the spot. In his naivety, he paid them $3,000. On the Victoria Finds website, it states that the Sheriff is to advise him of his options also including entering into a payment plan and also requesting a review. He is to phone them this morning regarding the rest of the money owing to them. I advised him to say he was getting legal counsel and that he will apply for a review. He was served a SEVEN DAYS NOTICE, a debtor summary report and a summary of all his fines. Unfortunately he didn’t come to me sooner. Any urgent help would be truly appreciated please!!
