Hello, i have 2 fines for unregistered cars, which was actually not intentional, i had reregistered them a few days after the ‘fine photos’ were taken, not knowing i was to be recieving fines for them.I had then written the expiation notice branch stat decs declaring that’I was not the registered owner of these cars at the time of the alleged offences of the vehicle number indicated.’, in other words saying, how can I be fined for my vehicles being unregistered if I was not the ‘the registered owner’ at the time of the alleged offences? They first responded to letters and stat decs saying I was recorded as the registered owner. I then kept responding back that, ‘I am now the registered owner, but was not on those dates of the alleged offences.’

They eventually admitted that ‘they were satisfied that my vehicle was unregistered at the time of the offences.’

But then wrote, in the same letter, that I need to direct all further enquiries in relation to the vehicles ownership details and registration to service sa. Then gave me the options of paying or electing to be prosecuted.

My husband went overseas for 6 weeks and i was flat out with the kids and all, so i did not respond to that. They sent it to the fines unit, i called and paid to get it back to the original expiation amount.

Do i continue where I left off, when in the expiation branch, now to the fines unit?

    What further suggestions?

Am I on the right track here?how to get this over the line?
