  • Update on how to obtain the indemnity insurance of a government official.

So what I have found is that you can not lodge a complaint directly to a insurance fund in regards to a government official.

I was told by someone that works at the insurance fund the process is you lodge your complaint with the corporation in which the official works and then it is up the corporations chief official to then take action. The chief official then makes a decision to take no action or to lodge a claim against the accused insurance.

In my case I lodged my complaint via the online process and was replied too within a few hours stating no future action will be take.

I was under the impression once a complaint was lodged the insurance of the accused is notified this is not the case I was told.

I would recommended to anyone that plans to lodge a formal complaint to do it in person so that way you can ask the chief official what their plan of action will be. I would recommend taking evidence in with you when you do lodge your complaint so that way the chief official can see first hand what has happened, also if He/She then still does nothing and the matter goes to court you can use that evidence of your complaint to subpoena the chief official.

This is what the last two weeks of research has me to conclude to find.

I hope this helps people and I want to state this is the process in Queensland Australia and that it might be different in other states or countries.
