Wow, this is so good, I would say you are the legend.

From my noob perspective this was so well done, very firm but respectful, you clearly know your stuff. Thank you for posting this, very helpful to hear a real case and see how arrogant the courts are in dealing with someone who knows their rights and won’t consent to playing their game.

    Hi jfreo1,

Great job at staying confident, and holding your position.

From what I heard, some errors that may have been made were:

    1. You made claims/statements about the prosecutions acceptance via default, as opposed to utilising the second witness. I believe your claim should have been phrased as a question to the justice, to verify the claim.

    2. By the sounds of it, you left the “bar”, and therefore nothing you were saying from the back is “heard” or on the public record.

    3. Unfortunately, even though you were confident, saying “with respect” and making fantastic points, I would assume they would have claimed you were being belligerent and argumentative, despite them not respecting you, and letting you talk initially.

It sounded like you may have bought into the frustration they were trying to impose.

I could be completely wrong, and am happy to be corrected, but they’re my thoughts from what I heard.

I hope it may be helpful, or give some insight, or someone else can clarify.

    Great job nonetheless!

    An update would be great.

    Good luck.

    R

Hi Rob, thanks for the points. I definitely need some practice and I think you might be right about those errors. I’m wondering if I am entitled to equitable remedies now or if I simply cooked the whole process. I think this is a great audio recording to be analysed

After I left the bar, I am wondering if the Judge’s answering of my questions/participation with me somehow constituted my continued involvement in the matter (after I had left the bar)

I am also hoping that that apology would’ve retracted any perceived belligerence, if my participation was still counted on the court record due to the judge continuing to answer some of my questions.

How would you have utilized the second witness in this matter exactly? (i definitely should’ve done that).

Also, would you say that I was tacitly consenting to the proceedings by participating even though I expressed non-consent the whole way through?

I got a letter in the mail stating that the outcome was 2 years loss of license with no recorded conviction.
What do you think I should do now?
