ATO “debt” Superannuation Guarantee

I am enjoying progressing through this course and find the information concise and empowering.

I have been returning BAS statements to the ATO for some time now, asking them to be returned with a legislated definition of “income” as well as evidence supporting their “suggestion” that a living being is compelled to pay “income tax”. This has been going on for some time with no definitive answers being received.
The issue I am wishing to get clued up on is how to tackle a $30k+ superannuation guarantee “debt”. Knowing what I know now, I should have maintained communication with the ATO but, in my ignorance I just dismissed their communication. Apparently the matter went to court and I have been ordered to pay the “Superannuation guarantee”.

There have been quite a few threats, and some money was garnisheed but to date that is all that has happened.
I am working my way through the courses but if anyone has any advice based on known successes, or anyone local to Northern Rivers NSW is happy to assist I am happy to pay for their time.

    Hi Brian,

Are you employing staff or are you self-employed as directors to your own company?

You will need to pay the SGC debt owing where you can. But in future, if you are able to hire staff or yourself as contractors, you won’t have to pay withholding tax on behalf of the staff nor superannuation. In turn they have more cash in their pocket.

    God bless,

    Brian
