Name different than Birth Cert

Born in Tasmania and was christened “Terrence David” – when old enough for driving I get an extract of birth to find out I am just simply “Terry” – my Mum messed it up.

So my passport has me as Terrence David as does my driving Lic. and Electoral Roll, BUT per the BC I’m just Terry. When I got the passport (way back when), I was asked to do a stat dec that it’s the same person. From there, using the P/Port as ID, the TERRENCE DAVID got replicated.

So if I receive a notice/fine/summons to “TERRENCE DAVID XXXXXX”, There really is no such statutory creature – the stat creature is “TERRY XXXXXX”.

Can any-one see any issues / disadvantages with this ???

I too have a similar situation, it would be great if someone with the right knowledge would answer this question.

I think the main thing is , is that it is just an offer of contract and can always be dealt with in the same manner, the name can be agreed to or unconditionally or conditionally (both honourable ways of dealing with the matter) , the cards are all in your hands.
