Westpac Credit card and Loan successful settlement and discharge of $37,000
I’ve had some great news through today, Westpac acccepted my offer of $7,000 against a $37,000 total debt, 19%, this was done through the Notice of offer template from the Clear credit card debt and module 9 holding my position. I initially only offered $5,000, due to financial hardship and some health challenges, which was rejected. I then increased this to $7,000 with bank cheques and postal orders and it being timebound and a genuine offer. After sending this new offer on 5/12, I sent a follow up to the General Manager, 10 days ago, with a 7 day request for a decision or it would be escalated. They emailed today to say they accepted my offer and all debts would be cleared. Massive result, such a relief. Thank you Mark and team.

Shouldn’t the 5k have been accepted? If we offer any money and they refuse, then the debt is discharged, or am I wrong!??

You could be right but they will do what they can get away with and everyone is happy with the final result so isn’t that all that matters at the end of the day?
