Strictly speaking the criminals are correct, they ensured by the media campaign (which is classed as entertainment only) that schools and workplaces etc (that relied on the TV and newspapers and didn’t do their own research) would be so frightened that they would consent and the workplaces would bully and coerce the workers and children into complying. This is the sleight of hand that was used to enable them to wriggle out of responsibility for any harm or loss and pass the liability on to the employers and employees and parents and children for consenting. In a way this is a blessing in disguise because for the ones who really what to know the truth for any future interactions, it is an opportunity for them to educate themselves so that, if there is a next time, they won’t be fooled into going along with the whole charade.
