Hi all,
I just wondered if someone could confirm why/how we become the owner of the Source document at age 18? Should I need to provide evidence of this in my request (which is proving difficult here in England!)
Also, if there are any members from England that have obtained their Source doc then it would be great to hear how (and with whom GRO or NHS Trust?!) you achieved success.

When you become 18 you are classed as an adult are you not? If they are arguing just ask them the question, who owns this document? If they say your parents then get them to approve you getting a copy. If they claim they own it then just request an official copy. Have you rung them and asked questions. These things can usually be resolved fairly quickly. All you require is a copy anyway as that is sufficient to prove your status.

Your mothers signature on the Source document creates the Birth Certificate about a month later, so the Source document will have 3 very important things on it your true name ( Given Name only no Surname ) your mothers signature confirming your name and a file number this file will be linked to the Birth Certificate confirming a TRUST. Once reaching 18 or 21 you replace mother but notice how they made mother INFORMANT this is to hide the fact she was EXECUTOR therefore hiding it is a Trust. At coming of age your are now EXECUTOR of it. In any Court Case they try and make you Trustee as the Trustee pays. My advice is obtain the Source Document from Births Department in your Country and also obtain as much information from the hospital you were born they might even have the Source document as well cheers.
